ALUMNI RECEPTION

The Universities of Liverpool and Birmingham warmly invite you and a guest to join us at our joint Alumni Reception on Friday 19 October 2007. The reception will be hosted by Ursula Henry from the University of Liverpool and Sally Mansell from the University of Birmingham. The reception will be held at Barefoot Garden Café from 7pm- 10pm.

The event is free of charge for you and a guest and includes buffet snacks and soft drinks throughout the evening. A glass of wine or beer will be available (free of charge) on arrival, but further alcoholic drinks will need to be purchased at the bar.

New student gathering Sat 18 August

Dear All
Hello from an unusually sunny Liverpool!

I was hoping to come out to Sri Lanka this summer, but unfortunately, plans fell through and my next visit will now be in October.
During this visit, we are planning to hold an alumni dinner/party in conjunction with the University of Birmingham on Friday 19 October – so please put that date in your diaries and I look forward to seeing you all again then.

In the meantime, Mahesh has offered to host a gathering for any new students coming to Liverpool in September and I would like to urge you all to come along to that too. There are 22 offer holders that we are inviting and your jobs are to convince them to accept their Liverpool offer rather than any other!
The gathering is going to be held in the Cinnamon Grand Hotel again, but this time in the coffee shop. I have asked Mahesh to pick up the tab and will reimburse him later. So, if you fancy a coffee and a pastry on the University, you will get the opportunity to catch up with each other and meet students that will hopefully join the ranks of Liverpool alumni in the future.
